About me
I was around eight or nine years old and It all started with my first Barbie; working out Barbie. I’d play that cassette and dance all Saturday morning. After a good workout with Barbie I’d wash, condition, and blow-dry her hair faithfully. One week I took it a step further and tried to press her hair out. Yes it was a disaster because
the hair melted LOL. Then I got my first black Barbie her name was Nichelle; she apart of the generation girl collection. She had dark kinky coily hair just like me. She was a diva so I washed her hair too. That’s when I noticed I was into hair. My mom wasn’t a license cosmetologist but she did natural hair part time in Haiti before she moved to the U.S. a little over 30 years ago. She did all my rollers sets for me growing up. Being a cosmetologist wasn’t my dream but I loved everything about hair. My journey to wearing extensions started when I was 15. That was my first blend-in weave. My first full weave was at 17. Bundle hair was becoming really popular but I didn’t have money for it so I kept buying my outre yaki (purple pack) hair or remy model model human hair if I felt fancy. I brought my first bundles in 2015 on my credit card. I found a company on Instagram and placed an order. The hair was good for maybe about a week, after that the shedding was extreme, it tangled easily, and the wefts were thinning after one install. I went on to experience this pattern of bad hair from hair companies that claim quality hair. One day my brother posted a Facebook status advertising he’s selling hair and a light bulb went off. I brought hair from his vendor but it still wasn’t right. That’s when I went on a hunt for real quality hair. I researched human hair and all I needed to know for hours everyday. I spent a lot of money trying different vendors before I finally found QUALITY hair. It took me a little over a year but it was worth it. Now I would love to share my findings with you. Thank you and enjoy all that Natasha’s Hairport has to offer.
